今回は、シーズン3で2024年8月27日（火）に放送された「半分の部屋と」をご紹介します。

 MIWAの鍵ですね。お邪魔します。

 入口から入ると階段と本棚があって、奥は事務所のようです。

 まず2階へと上がってみましょう。こちらは1928年に建てられた九州大学の旧学生食堂があった建物で、その一部を活用したお家です。

 大きな窓と直線的な間取りのダイニングキッチン。開放感があって、とても気持ちが良い空間です。

 窓と窓の間にある、こちらはどんな扉？窓？

 ドアノブがあって、開くことができるようになっていますが、機能としては窓ということでしょうか。

 天井はテント幕だそうです。お天気の日は明るくて良さそうですが、雨の日は雨音が相当響くかもしれません。

テント幕とは

テントを張る幕のこと。日差しや雨風などのダメージに強く、耐久性に優れる素材。

 お子さんが描いたお家ですね。可愛いイラストです。家の半分が透けている理由は———

 本当に建物が半分だから。

 こちらがリノベーション前の姿。解体される施設の一部を使用して景観を引き継いだ家ということなのです。

 意匠も思いっきり真っ二つという感じで！

 特徴的な下見板張りは、元々の姿を再現したもの。

下見板張りとは

外壁の張り方の一種。横にした板の下端が、その下の板の上端に少し重なるように張る造りのこと。

 窓も真っ二つに！

 外観だけでなく、室内にも枠だけ残しています。

 手摺も当時のものを移築して、足りない部分を新しく継ぎ足しました。

 扉も当時のものを活用しています。昔の建材の活用方法、すてきです。

 学校時代の名残りがあちこちに見られます。

 こちらは子供部屋に。この扉も学校らしい雰囲気。

 工作好きのお部屋でしょうか。

 演出まで作り込んでいて、素晴らしいです。

 そして1階へ。こちらはデザイン事務所になっています。天井が高くて、気持ちの良いオフィス空間。

 古墳のデザイン……？　ではなさそうです。これは———

 工事現場とかで使われる仮設のテーブルだそうです。こういったものもデザインするんですね。

 受付のカウンター。この小窓が昔の大学の名残。どんな用途で使っていたのか、想像すると楽しい。

 トイレの扉、戸締りには気をつけてというのも懐かしいです。

 門の柱も残されています。横の階段部分も半分にしたのでしょうか。

 こちらの花壇では家庭菜園を。   
古き良き景観を引き継いで、今を快適に暮らす。活かすものと思い切って処分するところと、線引きが難しいところですが、その匙加減で個性が生まれる素敵なお家オフィスでした。
